The most important book of Urdu is Sirat-ul-Nabi, which is a joint effort of Allama Shibli Nomani and Maulana Syed Sulaiman Nadvi. This book, consisting of seven thick volumes, is considered one of the best books of biography written not only in Urdu language but also in different languages around the world. Its compilation was first started by Allama Shibli Nomani, he had written the first two volumes and died in 1914. Before his death, he had bequeathed to his disciple Rasheed Syed Sulaiman Nadwi \x{FDEB} to complete this work. So the remaining five volumes were completed by Som Tahftam Syed Sulaiman Nadwi. The first volume of Sirat al-Nabi ﷺ died of Shibli Nomani. It was published four years later in 1918 and the last volume was published after the death of Syed Sulaiman Nadvi. Several editions of this book have been published in Pakistan and are being published continuously. It has also been translated into many foreign languages including English. A great deal of effort and attention has been paid to the investigation and research of the events and the discussion and research of the issues and theories. This book is in seven large volumes and it is very difficult for a common man to read it in this fast-paced and busy era. Therefore, in view of this need, Mr. Muhammad Rafiq Chaudhary has presented a summary of all the seven volumes of the Prophet's biography in one volume in the book "Brief Sirat-ul-Nabi". In this summary, all the texts and the entire text belong to the original authors, Shibli Naumani and Syed Sulaiman Nadvi. Rafiq Chaudhary has selected the most important subjects and arranged them in a suitable authorship so that the reader does not feel any gaps in the book and at least At the time, he kept his eye on the important subjects of Sirat-ul-Nabi (peace be upon him). Along with brevity, Rafiq Chaudhary has made two minor and appropriate changes in this work. Regarding the Quranic verses, which were previously in the form of bowing, now in the form of numbers of surahs and verses. have given and converted all Urdu numerals into English numerals. اردو کی سب سے زیادہ مایہ ناز کتاب سیرت النبیﷺ جو علامہ شبلی نعمانی اور مولانا سید سلیمان ندوی کی مشترکہ کاوش ہے۔سات ضخیم جلدوں پر مشتمل یہ کتاب نہ صرف اردو زبان بلکہ دنیا بھر کی مختلف زبانوں میں لکھی جانے والی بہترین کتب سیرت میں شمار کی جاتی ہے۔اس کی تالیف اولاً علامہ شبلی نعمانی نے شروع کی، انہوں نے پہلی دو جلدیں لکھیں تھیں کہ 1914ء ان کا انتقال ہو گیا ۔ وفات سے قبل انہوں نے اپنے شاگرد رشید سید سلیمان ندوی \x{FDEB} کووصیت کی تھی کہ وہ اس کام کی تکمیل کریں۔چنانچہ باقی پانچ جلدیں سوم تاہفتم سید سلیمان ندوی نےمکمل کی تھیں۔سیرت النبی ﷺ کی پہلی جلد شبلی نعمانی کی وفات کے چار سال بعد 1918ء میں شائع ہوئی اور آخری جلد سید سلیمان ندوی وفات کےبعدہوئی۔پاک وہند میں اس کتاب کے کئی ایڈیشن شائع ہوچکے ہیں اور مسلسل شائع ہورہے ہیں۔انگریزی سمیت کئی غیر ملکی زبانوں میں اس کے تراجم بھی ہوچکے ہیں۔اس کتاب میں واقعات کی تفتیش وتلاش اور مسائل ونظریات کی بحث وتحقیق پر بڑی محنت وکاوش اور دیدہ ریزی کی گئی ہے ۔یہ کتاب سات بڑی جلدوں میں ہے اورایک عام آدمی کے لیے اس کامطالعہ اس تیز رفتا ر اورمصروفیت کے دور میں بہت مشکل ہے۔ لہذا جناب محمد رفیق چودہری صاحب اس ضرورت کے پیش نظر زیرنظر کتاب ’’مختصر سیرت النبی ﷺ‘‘ میں سیرت النبی کی ساتوں جلدوں کا خلاصہ ایک جلد میں پیش کیا ہے۔تاکہ زیادہ ضروری مواد اورمعلومات کوایک عام قاری کم وقت میں حاصل کرسکے ۔اس اختصار میں تمام عبارت اور پورا متن اصل مصنفین یعنی شبلی نعمانی اور سید سلیمان ندوی کا ہے ۔رفیق چودہری صاحب نے زیادہ اہم مضامین کا انتخاب کر کے ان کو مناسب تصنیفی ترتیب دی ہےتاکہ قاری کو کتاب میں کہیں خلا محسوس نہ ہو اورکم سے کم وقت میں سیرت النبیﷺ کے اہم مضامین پر اس کی نظر رہے ۔رفیق چودہری صاحب نے اختصار کے ساتھ ساتھ اس کام میں دومعمولی اور مناسب تبدیلیاں کی ہیں۔قرآنی آیات کےحوالے جو پہلے رکوع کی شکل میں تھے اب سورۃ اور آیات کے نمبر کی صورت میں دے دئیے ہیں اور تمام اردو ہندسوں کوانگریزی ہندسوں میں بدل دیا ہے۔(م۔ا)
