"Naqoosh" is a renowned Urdu literary magazine founded by Muhammad Tufail (1914-1983), a prominent literary figure from Pakistan. Tufail was not only an accomplished poet but also a distinguished editor and critic. He established "Naqoosh" in 1938, and it soon became a significant platform for modern Urdu literature, showcasing the works of established and emerging writers, poets, and intellectuals.

Under Tufail's editorship, "Naqoosh" played a pivotal role in promoting progressive and modernist literature in Urdu. It provided a platform for writers who were part of the Progressive Writers' Movement, which aimed to use literature as a tool for social change and political activism.
